Free Visa entry & VOA - Visa on Arrival:
Depending on your passport there are three options to enter Indonesia that apply to most travelers that come for tourist or social purpose only:
- No Visa required (majority of countries - FREE entry, 30 days valid, NOT extendable)
- Visa on Arrival (3 countries, incl. USA, Canada @ 35US$, valid for 30 days, extendable once for 30 days maximum)
- Visa needed (apply abroad before arriving in Indonesia)
Day of arrival counts as day one
Day of departure counts as full day
To pay Visa on Arrival, queue at the counter before immigration
Passport must have a minimum of 6 months validity or longer with empty page for stamp or visa sticker!
Residents from this 75 Countries Gain the Visit Visa Free Travel to Indonesia
With consideration to improve the national economy in general, and the increased number of tourist visits in particular, Joko Widodo President on
September 18, 2015 and, has signed Presidential Regulation No. 104 Year 2015 on Amendment of Presidential Decree No. 69 Year 2015 on the Visits Visa Free.
Through regulation, the government increased the number of countries granted exemptions from the obligation to have a visitor’s visa in order to travel, and more provide flexibility for foreign tourists to visit Indonesia.
The lists of countries whose citizens are exempted from the obligation to have a visitor’s visa are:

This Presidential Regulation also mentions, Free Visit Visa for the Foreigners of nationals of certain countries and the government of a special administrative region of the particular country given based on Presidential Decree Number 18 Year 2003 on Visa Free for Short Visit as already amended by Presidential Regulation No. 43 year 2011 on Third Amendment of Presidential Decree No. 18 of 2003 shall remain valid.
“Foreigners referred exempted from the obligation to have a visit visa in order duties of government, educational, social, cultural, tourist, business, family, or transit to continue traveling to other countries, and can get in and out of Indonesian territory through the entire Immigration Check” content of Article 6 paragraph (2.3) Presidential Decree No. 104 Year 2015.
Furthermore, the provisions concerning the procedure in and out of Indonesia for foreigners who obtain visa-free visits, and the provision of Immigration Check referred governed by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Regulation.
